His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has stressed the importance of broadening coordination and cooperation between the GCC and allied countries to cement regional solidarity and stability, as well as global unity and partnerships. HM the King yesterday chaired the regular weekly Cabinet meeting at the Al Sakhir Palace. Tackling regional developments, the Cabinet yesterday condemned the continuous terrorist Houthi militia’s attacks with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones on civilian, economic and oil installations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It stressed that the attacks contravene all international laws and demonstrate the defiance of the Houthis to the peace-loving countries.
The Cabinet called on all countries to shoulder their responsibilities towards these deliberate and systematic terrorist attacks that threaten regional security and stability, endanger energy supplies, undermine the stability of the global economy and affect international peace. It reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, and support for all the measures it deems necessary to protect its security, stability and territorial integrity.
On the situation in Ukraine, the Cabinet expressed concern over the continuation of the war, calling on all parties to calm down, stop escalation, engage in dialogue, and use diplomatic methods to stop the war, settle the conflict through direct negotiations and accepted peaceful means.
It also called upon them to abide by the concluded agreements and pacts in order to maintain international security and peace. Concerning the humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the Cabinet stressed the need to provide protection for civilians, ensure their safety, open safe transit corridors for them, and deliver humanitarian and relief aid to them quickly.
The Cabinet expressed appreciation for all efforts made so far in this regard, and emphasising that Bahrain’s contribution to supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine is in line with its humanitarian duty to alleviate the suffering of the needy. It expressed Bahrain’s aspiration to stop the media escalation from all parties, as past events, especially in the Arab world, have proven its negative impact and contribution to hardening attitudes, inflaming situations and prolonging wars and conflicts, and not helping to ensure global security and stability.
