The precious gems obtained from the lush sea beds of Bahrain are one of the sought after objects in the world.

From celebrities to Queens and Kings, when it comes to their priced possession, pearls of Bahrain always had a place in them.

Of late, Queen Elizabeth II made public her love for these precious drops. When asked Queen Elizabeth II about the reasons for wearing a pearl necklace, she replied, “Because it’s made of genuine Bahraini pearls.”

Queen said she has been wearing it for 50 years, “and it keeps on shining, as it is just made.” These comments were published in a tweet by Dr Abdullah Al Madani on the Twitter account @abu_taymour.

According to reports, Elizabeth received seven large pearls as a wedding gift from the Hakim of Bahrain, when she married Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. Two of those pearls were soon used to create earrings and throughout the years, the Queen has frequently loaned the Bahrain Pearl Earrings to family members.

Last year, the Duchess of Cambridge was seen wearing a pearl necklace and earrings during a funeral at Windsor Castle. It is also sure that we will continue to see the Queen’s Bahrain Pearl jewellery for years to come!
