Bahrain to host 4th GCC eGovernment Award

Under the patronage of  Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Kingdom of Bahrain will host the fourth GCC eGovernment Award, Conference and Exhibition 2015 on November 25 and 26.

The Organising Committee of the Information and eGovernment Authority has expressed its heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH the Prime Minister for his generous patronage which reflects his dedicated support in developing the ICT sector in the Kingdom.

The committee explained that the conference is part of several key initiatives, set up by the GCC eGovernments’ guided strategies, which are adopted by the GCC eGovernment Ministerial Committee.

This year’s edition will be based on exchange of experience amongst countries in the field of eServices. It will also honour the outstanding ventures with the purpose of improving the eGovernment work and paying attention to factors of increasing as well as strengthening the integration between the GCC countries in order to unify and integrate them.

The topics and work papers will highlight the most important GCC eGovernment-related matters that are represented in Big and Smart Data, Integration of Environmental Information to Support Regional Decision-making, Government Shared Services, and Smart Social Media, along with the presentation of GCC experiences in the eGovernment field across a range of sectors such as justice, social development and many others.

The ‘GCC eGovernment Award’ is organised in relation with the conference and exhibition where the GCC government entities participate by showcasing their best practices in conducting the online transactions, which are in line with the standards set this year and aligned with the GCC vision.

The vision is in pursuit of leading the way in the level of government services presented electronically in these countries.

The evaluation process was completed by October by a specialised committee, which includes GCC eGovernment experts and the winners will be announced and honoured during the opening ceremony of the conference.
