Bahraini human rights efforts showcased
O mbudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma’awda received the US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour (DRL), Dafna Hochman Rand, and her accompanying delegation.
The Ombudsman welcomed the visiting delegation and briefed them about the efforts of the Ombudsman Office in boosting the respecting of human rights according to its jurisdiction and ensuring compliance with professional policing standards that consolidate justice, the rule of law and gain public trust.
He also briefed the delegation on important aspects of the Ombudsman’s Second Annual Report as well as aspects of cooperation with international institutions and organisations as part of international cooperation, training programmes and exchange of expertise.
Deputy Ombudsman Osama Ahmed Al Asfoor; Director of International Cooperation and Development Ghada Hameed Habib; and, Mariam Abdul Noor International Cooperation and Development Specialist were present during the meeting.
