The Bahrain government places a high value on enlisting the private sector as a major partner in providing social housing projects for low-income citizens, which has resulted in the provision of thousands of housing units to citizens over the last few years.
“The technical and financial capabilities of real estate development companies qualify them for a larger role in the next stage, in terms of increasing the supply of housing projects provided by the ministry to citizens,” said HH Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah, also the Chairman of the Development Projects and Infrastructure Ministerial Committee, was speaking at a meeting with Housing Minister Basem bin Yacoub Al Hamer.
The event was organised by the Housing Ministry and the Housing Bank in collaboration with real estate development companies and banks to introduce the Government Land Rights Development Program projects.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the government supports all initiatives and innovative solutions that contribute to providing immediate services to citizens, and he praised the companies’ efforts in many projects in Deirat Al Oyoun, Salman Town, Al Lawzi, and Mazaya Program that are in line with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 in the housing sector.
