Bahrain's Ambassador to US visits New York City Police Academy

Bahrain's Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa said that the Kingdom's security and stability are based on the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to strengthen the role of community partnership and open communication with citizens as the best way to enhance stability.
The ambassador hailed the efforts of the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his keenness to enhance security as the best way to achieve sustainable development.
The ambassador was speaking as he visited the New York City Police Academy within the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Interior and the New York City Police.
During the visit, the Ambassador gave a lecture in which he reviewed the experience of the Community Service Police at the Bahraini Ministry of Interior.
He said the Minister of Interior Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa is keen on providing programs aimed at preventing crime and on building the character of children and youth on sound educational foundations.
He referred to “Maan”, the approach to combat extremism that is taught within the program to tackle violence and addiction implemented by the Community Service Police in Bahrain’s public and private schools.
The ambassador pointed out that the world, in light of the modern tremendous technological development, requires strengthening cooperation and coordination among security agencies worldwide and developing joint strategies to combat crime and confront the increasing security challenges.
He also toured the premises of the New York City Police Academy and its training and educational facilities that were designed according to the needs of students and the mechanisms required by the educational and training process to refine the skills of trainees and enhance their capabilities.
He was also briefed on the students' implementation of security scenarios that simulate reality and make the training process relevant to the requirements and challenges of security work.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Academy for allocating, for the first time, a seat to a candidate from the Bahraini Ministry of Interior, in implementation of the MoU signed between the Ministry of Interior and the New York City Police in 2018.
The MoU includes many forms of cooperation and joint projects in the security field.
The ambassador expressed hope to continue strengthening security cooperation and coordination between the two countries and the continuation of efforts aimed at exchanging educational experiences in the security field and all forms of bilateral cooperation.
