Bahrain and South Korea yesterday sat together for the fourth round of political consultations in Seoul, where the focus was also on regional and international developments. Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Yeo Seung Bae, chaired the meeting.

Dr Shaikh Abdullah praised the steady growth of bilateral relations, since its establishment 46 years ago, highlighting the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

The two sides reviewed prospects for cooperation in trade, investments, infrastructure, health, space sciences, environment and renewable energy, and activating more than 18 agreements and memoranda of understanding for bilateral cooperation, exchanging experiences in human development and digital transformation.

They also discussed regional and international issues of common interest, in light of the Kingdom's presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, and the two countries' commitment to consolidating tolerance and dialogue and promoting security, peace and sustainable development.
