Students turn tech-wizards

New Millennium school- DPS Bahrain celebrated an exclusive “Science and Computer Science Week” from October 27 to 29, keeping in mind the importance of Creativity, Adaptability, Critical Reasoning and Collaboration for students. The event sparked off with grandiose special assemblies held in respective homerooms.

The main activities of the week included Science Experiments, Science Model Making and its Demo, Intra class Symposium, Concept Writing, Science Aptitude Test, Imaginary drawing of Tablets, Robots and Digital Camera.

The topics chosen for symposium were creative and innovative like – ‘3G and 4G in today’s ‘G’eneration’, ‘New News on Neutrinos’, ‘Cyber safety and Cyber Wellness’ and ‘IT + IT = IT (Indian Talent + Information Technology = India Tomorrow).

Equally innovative topics were given for concept writing also. The criteria on which students were judged were techno wizardry, creative ideas, scientific applications, competence and relevance in present day life.

The celebration culminated with a grand exhibition of models made by the students. The exhibition was an initiative to showcase the scientific instinct of the students and channelise their enthusiasm towards scientific creativity.

It also helped to raise the awareness of importance of computer education and also provided information on different technical aspects of computing.

Kindergarten students also celebrated the week through variety of activities and presentations, which portrayed the significance of ‘learning Science’. The three-day celebration was highly successful on quality aspect, students’ involvement and innovative thinking.

School Chairman Dr. Ravi Pillai, Managing Director Geetha Pillai and Principal Arun Kumar Sharma appreciated the efforts of the parents, the students and the teachers and also congratulated them on the successful completion of ‘Science and Computer Science week.’
