Filipino culture showcased at American University Bahrain International Day

Representatives of the Filipino community took part in the 2022 American University Bahrain (AUBH) International Day held at the University grounds.
Held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and with the theme “One World, Diverse Nations”, the AUBH International Day was organised to promote awareness about the diverse cultures of the participating nations, highlighting the openness and inclusivity of Bahrain society.
Together with other diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Philippine Embassy was represented by its personnel and their dependents, and led the biggest contingent during the national dress parade.
The Philippine School Bahrain wowed the crowd as they opened the cultural program with Philippine folk dances.
The Embassy booth promoted Philippine tourism and showcased the country’s handicrafts and Filipino delicacies including cassava, pichi-pichi, and traditional rice cakes such as biko, puto, and suman.
Sharing the Filipinos’ love for singing, the Embassy booth also featured a Karaoke booth where visitors, particularly the students had fun singing their favorite songs.
Students who participated in the Embassy’s interactive Karaoke challenge were gifted with the Fiesta Filipinas kits and were also invited to join the upcoming online event of the Pahiyas Festivals on 2 April. With over 1,000 peo - ple pre-registering for the event, this maiden multicultural celebration was a huge success and was a fun-filled way to celebrate the diversity of communities present in Bahrain.
