Boat catches fire in Sitra killing elderly woman

A 79-year-old woman died, and several others sustained injuries in a fire that broke out in a boat moored at one of the ports in Bahrain.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Interior said Civil Defence forces reached the scene and "brought the fire under control." "The Civil Defence, in cooperation with the Coast Guard, was able to put out a fire that broke out in a boat in one of the harbours in Sitra," the ministry tweeted.
The mishap resulted in the death of a 79-year-old woman and the injured others. Authorities are yet to announce the identify the woman and the cause of death. No clarification is also available on the number of passengers on the boat.
The tweet said a National Ambulance crew rushed the injured to a nearby hospital. The ministry said competent authorities are at the accident scene. The cause of the fire or the extent of the damages are not yet determined. An investigation is ongoing.
