Bahrain Fine Arts Exhibition opens

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday delegated His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to open the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition. Now in its forty-eighth edition, the expo takes place at the Bahrain National Theatre.
HH Shaikh Mohammed said the event offers a platform for Bahraini contemporary art pioneers and reflects the momentum of the fine art scene in Bahrain.
His Highness toured the expo and received a briefing on the more than 100 artworks by 60 Bahraini and resident artists on display representing various schools of thought and medium.
Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, said the exhibition this year confirms the continuation of the recovery of the cultural movement in Bahrain and the return of life to normal. During the exhibition, the winners of the three annual awards were announced.
Jaafar Al-Araibi won the Al-Dana Award, Maryam Al-Noaimi took second place, and Nouf Al-Rifai third place. The Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition is one of the largest and most prominent annual artistic gatherings held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
