Support for regional peace and stability: Bahrain

Bahrain affirmed its keenness to cooperate with other countries in consolidating peace and stability in the Middle East, and promoting the values of dialogue, peaceful coexistence, tolerance and rapprochement between peoples. Bahrain also supports efforts to promote well-established principles under the wise approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the policy of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This came during the statement delivered by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaiei, during the Security Council’s open session on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question.
Ambassador Al Ruwaiei said that the existing challenges and developments in the current regional and international situations require strengthening joint efforts to lay the foundations for security, peace and stability, combating terrorism in all its forms and preventing its financing, and developing joint cooperation.
He reiterated the firm position of Bahrain in support of the right of the brotherly Palestinian people, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy, and its call on the international community to assume its responsibilities in ensuring calm, and to open serious aspects for the just and comprehensive peace process based on the principle of the two-state solution and the Arab Peace Initiative.
He also stressed the need to respect the custodianship of the holy sites and endowments entrusted to His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in accordance with international law and the existing historical situation, and ensure the freedom to practise religious rites for all, highlighting the importance of the role of the Al-Quds Committee headed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco.
