The Sunni Endowments Directorate has signed three memoranda of understanding with donors to build four mosques in Salman City. The projects are the first phase of the implementation of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s order to construct 12 mosques in Salman City.

They include the Nadia Al Shater Mosque, Al Shaikh Ahmed bin Al Shaikh Hassan Al Khan Mosque and the Mohammed Bahlool and His Consort Fatima Al Khaja Mosque, in addition to another mosque to be constructed at the expense of a benefactor at a total cost of BD2830,000.

HRH Prince Salman has ordered the immediately launch of a development plan for mosques across Bahrain's governorates, inaugurate and restore 20 mosques belonging to the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments, located across different governorates of Bahrain, as well as to allocate sites and expedite the design and construction of 12 mosques in Salman City.

Sunni Endowments Council Chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri patronised the ceremony to sign the three MoUs. Yousif Salahuddin Ibrahim Salah, Sunni Endowments Council member and chairman of the Mosques Committee, said that the projects are part of Bahrain’s achievements in building mosques across the Bahrain’s governorates to enable citizens and residents to perform prayers easily and comfortably.
