Committee for Standardisation and Metrology restructured

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued Edict (27) of 2022, restructuring the National Committee for Standardisation and Metrology. The committee shall be chaired by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and comprise the following members: Director of the Testing and Metrology Directorate at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism; Director of the Customs Clearance Directorate at the Interior Ministry’s Customs Affairs; Director of the Control and Licensing Directorate at the Ministry of Oil; Director of the Conservation of Electricity and Water Directorate at the Electricity and Water Authority; Director of the Materials Engineering Directorate at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning; Director of the Public Health Directorate at the Ministry of Health.
Engineer Lama Abbas Al Mahroos, a member with expertise and competence; Dalal Fuad Al Baharn, a member with expertise and competence; Sonya Mohammed Janahi, Representative of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); Nawaf Khalid Al Zayani, Representative of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); and Ahmed Sabah Al Salloum, Representative of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). The members shall serve for a four-year term.
The edict stipulates that the committee shall, during its first meeting, elect its Deputy Chairman, who will replace the Chairman in case of absence. The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, shall implement the edict, which takes immediate effect, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
