Prominent expatriate businessman honoured

Prominent expatriate businessman and visionary engineer K G Baburajan was honoured last night at an event held at Indian School auditorium in Isa Town.
The event was attended by Indian Parliament Member M K Premachandran, Deputy Leader of Opposition in Kerala Legislative Assembly Dr M K Muneer, Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava and Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham President Brahmasri Sachidananda Swami along with other dignitaries.
The event saw honouring of newly-elected managing committee members of Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham. A classical dance performance by renowned Malayalam actress Navya Nair was also held as part of the event.
K G Baburajan, the chairman and managing director of BKG Holding, has made the Indian diaspora proud through his milestone achievements in the areas of business and charity.
The winner of the prestigious Pravasi Bharatheeya Samman, Mr Baburajan crossed the seas and reached the Mideast in the early eighties to take up a project in Saudi Arabia with Stanger Industries’ joint venture partner Al Hoty Stanger Limited.
He worked on the Bahrain-Saudi Causeway Project from the very beginning till its completion before setting up his base in the Kingdom. Since then, Mr Baburajan has been an integral part of many projects in the Kingdom, be it highrise buildings, dredging and reclamation, offshore installations, causeways, bridges, power plants, and aluminium smelters as well as refineries.
