Government Hospitals, Maccabi Health sign agreement to promote regional research

A collaborative medical research agreement was signed between the Government Hospitals administration in Bahrain and Maccabi Health Fund – Kahn Sagol Research and Innovation Institute.

The agreement aimed to enrich medical research and promote medical innovation between the two countries.

Bahraini Ambassador to Israel, Khaled Yousif Al Jalahma and Israel’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Eitan Na’eh, were present during the signing.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Tal Patalon, Head of Maccabi KSM and the CEO of Government Hospitals, Dr. Ahmed Al Ansari. 

It will include big data research and various clinical trials focusing specifically on personalized medicine in women’s health, health economics, COVID-19, trauma and emergency medicine, and diseases endemic to the region.

The collaboration seeks to promote the co-development and implementation of medical innovation tools, developing learning infrastructure programs, as well as hosting joint seminars, regional conferences, and more.

All joint studies will be subjected to the regulatory requirements and each research will be conducted in full privacy, removing identifying details and maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of patients.

I am confident that together we can continue to develop medicine in the Middle East by advancing new medical technologies and conducting groundbreaking research between the countries," Dr. Ahmad Al Ansari, said.

“I am thrilled to build this bridge for joint research between our countries, and to develop an ecosystem of collaborative innovation. We aim to advance medical research and development, while creating an added value for the entire Middle East," Dr. Tal Patalon said.
