Filipino expats in Bahrain 'hope for better tomorrow'

As Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr last week claimed victory in the Philippine presidential election, expats in Bahrain are hoping he will deliver on his promise of unity and respond to the needs of overseas Filipino communities Ferdinand Marcos Jr had a comprehensive victory in the presidential election in the Philippines. More than 30 million Filipinos voted for Marcos Jr., more than double that of his closest rival, the outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo. 

Speaking to The Daily Tribune, Filipino national Lyn Le. Altarejos said: “Indeed we are so grateful to all 31 million Filipinos around the world for their trust and support to our newly elected President and Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines Your Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.  “After 36 years here, we are hoping for a great and prosperous Country under your Leadership. 

In Bahrain, we work hard to campaign and continue to promote a platform for better Overseas Filipino. Many thanks are also extended to all the stakeholders for the peaceful Election.  “We wish our President a great leadership journey. From the bottom of our hearts Congratulations to our nation for having such a beloved President.” Louie Capistrano, another Filipino national said: “I am a Filipino who believes in the excellence and vision of Bongbong Marcos, Sara Duterte and UniTeam Senatoriables.

The unifying leadership that would unite, uplift and revive the true spirit of who and what we are as Filipinos. BBM SARA UNITEAM VICTORY!”  Joel R Alap, a Filipino national residing in the Kingdom, congratulated Marcos Jr on the great victory. “Long live the Philippines with the victory of the Filipino people, with the election of our Dear President FERDINAND BONG BONG MARCOS JR, we in Bahrain are united for victory and this happened with the election of the new leader of our country.

We Love you our President BBM from Bahrain,” he said.  Marcos Jr. and newly-elected Vice-President Sara Duterte avoided volatile issues during their campaign and instead stuck steadfastly to a battle cry of national unity. The election winners will take office on June 30 for a single six-year term as leader of a Southeast Asian nation hit hard by two years of COVID-19 outbreaks and lockdowns. Marcos Jr., a former provincial governor, congressman and senator, will be facing a lot of challenges. However, his supporters believe that he would surmount them all while taking the nation towards the path of better prosperity.
