The US-Bahrain bilateral ties have scaled new heights, said US Ambassador Steven C Bondy, at a reception hosted by the US Embassy last night at The Ritz Carlton Hotel to commemorate the 246th Independence Day of the United States of America.
“We are seeing an unprecedented government-to-government collaboration between both nations. We thank the Bahraini government for the swift action during the Afghanistan evacuation last summer.
“US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Defense Secretary Lloyd J Austin have already lauded the efforts of the Bahrain government for facilitating the transit of more than 7,000 US citizens.” Mr. Bondy said the US supports the growing partnership between Bahrain and Israel following the historic signing of Abraham Accords in September, 2020.
In 2021, US-Bahrain bilateral trade exceeded $2 billion and partnerships between the private sectors of both nations are getting stronger and stronger, he said, adding that “diplomacy requires human connection”. The US Ambassador praised the Kingdom’s leadership for the miraculous development the country has witnessed.
Minister of Finance and National Economy, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Justice Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, leading diplomats, senior government officials, and dignitaries attended the event.
