National strategy underway to boost digital economy

Bahrain is committed to developing a national strategic plan to boost the digital economy and harness Bahrainis’ capabilities in the information technology sector.
This was emphasised by Deputy Prime Minister His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, also Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology, as he chaired the its 21st meeting.
HH Shaikh Mohammed stressed that the sector has the support of the government in accordance with globally recognised indicators standards.
Ensuring the transfer of knowledge and spreading the culture of the digital economy, through the work of the consultancy company in terms of assessing the level of digital maturity in Bahrain compared with the most advanced countries in this field, sets the general framework for the digital economy and the most prominent modern technologies, he said.
The National Digital Economy Strategy Committee discussed the national programme for the development of the capacities of Bahrainis in the information technology sector.
