‘Pattimandram’ fame Tamil scholar Solomon Pappaiah honoured

Tamil scholar and Padma Shri award winner Solomon Pappaiah, who is wellknown for ‘Pattimandrams’ (Tamil debate shows) was honoured at an event held at Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam on Friday. The event was organised by Annai Tamil Mandram (ATM) on behalf of the entire Tamil community of Bahrain.
The event began with Tamil Nadu State Anthem, followed by Bahrain National Anthem, Indian National Anthem and one-minute silent prayer for the victims of Covid-19 virus.
The Chief Guest, Mr Ravishankar Sukhla, Second Secretary at Indian Embassy, and Dr Suad Yaseen, Chairman of Board of Directors of Al Yassin Training Centre, were as well honoured at the event by ATM President Mr Senthil G K and General Secretary Mr M Thamarai Kannan. The event saw Solomon Pappaiah being awarded with the title “Tamil Thayin Thalai Magan Award 2022” (First Son of Tamil Language).
Khalil Al Daylami, the social worker who was awarded ‘YOU ARE THE HERO’ by the Government of Bahrain was as well honoured at the event. A debate show took place with Mr Ramaraj, Mr Bala Murugan and Mr Raja on one side and Mrs Bhavani Premanadh, Ms Shena Sultana and Mrs Barathi Baskar on the other. It was witnessed by over 1,600 people.
