Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister meets with Russian Foreign Affairs Minister

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Sergey Lavrov, at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the ongoing development of Bahrain-Russia cooperation and coordination in areas of common interest. Regional and international issues were discussed, in particular recent developments in Ukraine.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised the importance of diplomatic solutions and dialogue in accordance with the rules of international law, and of resolving the conflict by peaceful means, to support humanitarian relief efforts and establish a lasting and comprehensive peace in the region.

For his part, HE Lavrov expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness, and for the warm reception and hospitality he received. HE Lavrov concluded by wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and development.

The Deputy Prime Minister, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
