The New Horizon School celebrated World Environment Day and conducted a Special Assembly under this year’s theme, ‘Only One Earth’.

In the path of protecting the Earth, a drive to ‘Save the Soil’ is introduced, where the students bring the vegetable and fruit peels from their homes in the reusable boxes, these peels are then recycled and transformed as organic compost in the school garden.

To celebrate this event, an activity was conducted to inculcate the value of recycle, reduce and reuse in the students. A ‘Best Out of Waste’ activity was held wherein students used their creativity and imagination to transform waste into their best creation.

A special assembly was also conducted yesterday, where students shared the importance of this day and encouraged their friends and teachers to do their bit and save the world bit by bit in accordance with their own capacity and capabilities.

Kindergarten students presented a skit on “Save Animals”. A Mime was presented by Grade 5 and 6 students on the theme “Save Water”. For the first time, there was a live coverage from the school compound in which students shared the importance of organic compost for the soil and plants.

Students celebrated this day by dressing in green attire. To inculcate the value of “Save Water” among the citizens of Bahrain, the students of NHS presented a Mime, along with a group song in the evening at Seef Mall, Bahrain, under the theme – ‘Together, Towards A Conscious Planet’.
