Expenditure rejig in Bahrain: Shura role noted

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh said that the council played its role and responsibilities in terms of restructuring and rationalising spending, in line with Bahrain’s current trends.

“It’s in a way that achieves the optimal use of resources and budgets in completing high quality projects, plans and programmes at the lowest cost,” he remarked.

Al Saleh received yesterday a report from the committee in charge of rationalising expenditures at the Secretariat-General of the Shura Council, which adopts the Secretariat-General’s strategy and action plan to reduce the administrative

spending and financial costs without affecting the employees’ rights and benefits.

He praised the efforts exerted by the committee’s chairman and members and valued highly the commitment of the Secretariat-General’s employees.

Al Saleh pointed out that the Secretariat-General followed the financial regulations, which had been affirmed by the National Audit Office (NAO) over the past years.

Rationalising expenditures committee is chaired by Assistant Secretary General for Sessions and Committees Affairs Abdul Nasser Mohammed Al Siddiqui and comprises Deputy-Chairman,  Director of Human Resources and Finance Kareema Al Abbasi, Financial and Economic Advisor Ahmed Yusuf Al Sahaf, Director of  the Secretary-General Office Essam Mohammed Al Rayes and Director of Information Technology Abees Abdullah Al Obaidly.
