More illegal workers have been arrested and are now facing deportation proceedings as a result of the government’s intensified campaign to maintain the labour market’s stability.
This came as the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), in cooperation with the Muharraq Governorate Police Directorate, organised an inspection campaign to tackle violations by illegal expatriate workers.
The individuals arrested were found to have committed a number of violations related to the provisions of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Law and the Residence Law in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The authority said that it will organise weekly inspection campaigns in cooperation with the NPRA and relevant government agencies. Director of Search and Follow Up at the NPRA Col. Talal Taqi highlighted the dedication to holding more campaigns to tackle illegal activities.
