For the health and welfare of Bahraini women

Bapco’s Health Promotion Unit under the Medical Services Department recently held an event focusing on women’s health awareness. The event, titled “Women’s Health 4 Life”, was the seventh in an ongoing series of “Wellbeing Programmes” being held in the company as part of Bapco’s ambitious Wellbeing 2020 project under the leadership of Dr. Spyridon Trus.

Themed “You are Important”, the event was on October 30 at the Bapco Club in Awali, and garnered a strong attendance from female employees of Bapco.

Present at the event was Bapco’s Deputy Chief Executive (Refining & Marketing) and Chairman of the EHS Committee, Ebrahim Talib, who addressed the attendees and discussed the importance of women’s health. “Through the Wellbeing Project WBP 2020, Bapco ensures that employees, contractors and families health & wellbeing initiatives are backed with strong leadership and visible support at Board level,” he said.

“The project will develop and implement an evidence- based improvement plan for employees to meet the company’s needs. The project engages employees at all levels with improving their own health through education, encouragement, and support,” he added.

“The Wellbeing Project 2020 is in line with the dedicated efforts aimed at implementing the wise directives of the Leadership and Bahrain Vision 2030,” Talib concluded.
