Passports for newborn to be applied via Bahrain eGovernment portal

Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) yesterday highlighted the issuance of passports for newborns through the eGovernment portal bahrain. bh, comes in line with its keenness to serve the citizens and residents and promote digital transformation in its services.
The applications could be processed virtually without needing to visit any of the Directorate’s service centres, as the applicant will only have to visit the centres to collect the passport. In addition, this service provides statustracking feature.
The issuance of the first passport is part of 24 development initiatives for the NPRA within the economic recovery plan that aims to reduce the routine procedures, reinforce the digital transformation of the services and maintain the environment to achieve Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.
The NPRA also stated that the newborn’s father should apply for the first passport. The applicant should be a Bahraini national, reside in Bahrain and is above 18 years. An electronic key is required, while other conditions are listed in the portal.
The required documents are a recent personal photo (white background, size 6X4), marriage certificate, the passports of both father and mother, and the child’s birth certificate. For the application, the newborn ID number should be added along with choosing the collection location and providing contact information.
The applicant can add more than one newborn, provided the attachments are uploaded separately. The applicant should agree that all provided documents and information are corrected, and finally, the request is sent to issue an application number for each added newborn.
