The Bahrain Photographic Society held its second annual exhibition "Stories and Camera Tales" featuring abstract vision, stories, and significant portraits.
Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the patron of the event at Seef Mall, opened the exhibition and met with talented photographers to discuss their work.
The 29 participants shared their photographs capturing reality, people, and places from different angles.
“This exhibition creates a great opportunity for the public to recognize the distinguished talents and discover the photography society in the Kingdom with the participation of the 29 phenomenal visionaries," Deputy Governor Hassan Madan said.
Many of the participants showcased the beauty of Bahrain and its authentic culture through their photographers as they demonstrated their authenticity and distinguished vision.
“My portray is called Green Gold and defines Bahrain’s green nature and defines the progress and continuity of the field as I tried to my best to portray Bahrain’s greenery and divine, growing culture,” Dr. Jameela Al Watani, a participant, said.
“This participation is a great milestone for the photographic societies as we get to meet other professionals and share their love for photography and experiences.”
A key vision for this year's exhibition is the desire to make portrait photos an aesthetic and intellectual means of understanding a world that provides intellectual, cultural, aesthetic, social, and anthropological depth to a picture.
“I participated under the category of people and portraits, which goes under many categories of the exhibition, and these types of events educate the common people on the importance of the field,” Hameed Al Makhlooq said.
"It’s a great opportunity to introduce people to the evolvement of photography and its advanced concepts such as lighting, angles, and colors mashed in one extraordinary portrait, and send our message through photographs.”
Each participant had their own touch and flare as they presented their personalities, travel experiences, and personal culture through a click of a button, attracting audiences from all over Bahrain to enjoy the artistry of photography.
“I’m glad to witness such events held in public places; it’s a great idea to introduce people to the different photographs and I enjoyed exchanging knowledge with all the professionals and understanding the true meaning behind their pictures and the deep feeling behind each photograph,” Sarah Ali, a visitor, said.
