Bahrain police arrest woman for indecent acts that went viral on social media

Police have arrested a woman, a Gulf national, and another person for allegedly committing indecent acts in public. The suspects landed in police custody after a video clip of their acts went viral on social media platforms.
The head of the Capital Governorate Prosecution said the Public Prosecution had completed an investigation into the incident and has referred two suspects to the Lower Criminal Court. The Public Prosecution has charged them with committing indecent acts and misusing social media platforms for exploitation.
Capital Governorate prosecution head said they opened an investigation soon after receiving a report on the clip. The woman confessed during interrogation that she herself published the video clip. Police said they also took into custody the person who sold the clothes the accused was wearing in the video. The accused is now in pretrial detention pending further investigation.
