Focus on boosting US-Bahrain ties

The Commandant of the US Coast Guard, Admiral Linda Fagan, yesterday expressed her pleasure in the meeting with Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

“Had the pleasure of meeting with the Minister of Interior, Chief of Public Security, & Bahrain Coast Guard Commander @moi_bahrain,” Admiral Linda Fagan wrote on the Twitter handle @ComdtUSCG.

Admiral Linda L. Fagan assumed the duties as the 27th Commandant of the United States Coast Guard on June 1st, 2022. As Commandant, she oversees all global Coast Guard operations and 42,000 active-duty, 7,000 reserves, and 8,700 civilian personnel, as well as the support of 21,000 Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers.

Linda Fagan said she is looking forward to boosting the ties with Bahrain. “I look forward to helping maintain the strong relationship between the US and Bahrain thru continued engagement and support between our services,” her Twitter post reads.

She also tweeted about meeting “the highly motivated crews at Coast Guard Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PATFORSWA).” Linda Fagan said she is “wholeheartedly impressed by their exceptional work performed both at sea and ashore!” the Tweet reads.

PATFORSWA is a United States Coast Guard command based in Manama, Bahrain. PATFORSWA was created in November 2002 as a contingency operation to support the US Navy with patrol boats. It was commissioned as a permanent duty station in June 2004. In July 2003 PATFORSWA moved from its compound to facilities at Naval Support Activity Bahrain.
