Bahraini-British economic cooperation and partnership growing from strength to strength

Economic cooperation and partnership has strengthened the solid long-standing Bahraini-British relations. Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa affirmed the depth of the ties between the two friendly countries.
He stressed the importance of continuing to develop the Bahrain-UK partnership to create more ambitious investment opportunities that would benefit the two countries and their peoples. Shaikh Salman was speaking while meeting yesterday the Minister for Asia and the Middle East at the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Amanda Milling, who is currently on a visit to Kingdom.
The Minister highlighted the importance of building on the previous achievements of the two countries’ fruitful cooperation, and opening up new horizons so as to achieve common aspirations and goals.
They discussed topics of mutual interest, in addition to the latest developments in the global economy. Recovery progress Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has lauded the progress made in implementing the priorities and initiatives of the Economic Recovery Plan, which will support the comprehensive development march, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and backed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He also praised the progress made by the kingdom in enhancing the governance performance, promoting investment opportunities and revitalising the business and finance market. Al Saleh was speaking as he received yesterday Shaikh Salman, whose role in following up on the implementation of the Economic Recovery Plan’s priorities and initiatives he praised.
He also expressed pride the kingdom’s achievements in this field in a record time, confirming that Bahrain is on the rights track towards achieving its Economic Vision 2030. The Shura Chairman asserted that the financial and economic reports and indices show the success of the government in taking advantage of the existing legislative system related to financial and economic affairs to enhance investment opportunities, expressing hope that cooperation between the legislative branch and the executive, represented by the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, will be strengthened further in the future for the best interests of the nation and the citizens.
The meeting also touched upon the great success of the “Economic Recovery Forum”, organised by the Shura Council, in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, with the participation of the Finance Minister.
