Community partnership key in strengthening pillars of security: Southern Governor

Community partnership is important in strengthening the pillars of security. This was stressed by Southern Governor, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, adding that it is in line with the directives of the Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, to ensure security and tranquility across the governorate.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali yesterday chaired the sixth meeting of the security committee for 2022.

The virtual meeting was attended by Deputy Southern Governor, Brigadier Isa Thamer Al Dosari, and officers representing Interior Ministry’s security directorates. The Southern Governor commended the success of the awareness security exhibition, held by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science marking the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

He affirmed the Southern Governorate’s keenness to take part in initiatives and programmes marking international occasions in cooperation with the relevant departments, which reflects its commitment to enhancing community partnership and promoting security awareness.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali was also informed about the measures taken by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate ahead of Eid Al Adha. He gave directives to the security directorates to intensify awareness campaigns and deploy security patrols, while taking the necessary procedures and measures to maintain security and enhance safety across the governorate.

The Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Security Committee, said that the ongoing cooperation and coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic enhances the role of traffic control, urging more coordination during Eid Al Adha to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on some vital roads in the Southern Governorate.

HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali was also informed, through a video presentation, about the efforts of the General Directorate of Civil Defence to organise security awareness campaigns targeting various factories and industrial workshops within the Southern Governorate to ensure the safety of all, commending the high-level security readiness of the civil defence personnel.

The participants expressed their thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for his constant follow-up on various security programmes and initiatives, which, they said, confirms the Southern Governorate’s keenness to meet the security and social needs of the citizens there.
