Bahrain host global conference on women’s issues in Dec
Bahrain will host a three-day international conference on ‘Women in Public Life - from Policies to the Impact’ from December 8 in Sofitel Hotel. This was announced yesterday at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) in Riffa.
The Supreme Council is organising this conference in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a known international entity working to promote the policies that would improve the economic and social well-being of people all over the world.
Speaking to DT News, Deputy Head of Division, Governance Reviews and Partnerships, Public Governance and Territorial Development, OECD Tatyana Teplova said the meet would look into issues related to integrating general considerations in parliamentary practices and the kinds of accountability mechanism necessary to ensure that the general equality programme and policies were effectively implemented.
Teplova said that the conference would be attended by high-level officials from international institutions, parliaments and various executive bodies across the GCC countries.
