Korean history highlighted through dance & music at Bahrain Cultural Hall

As part of the Bahrain Summer Festival, the embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bahrain has staged a cultural show “Korean History through Dance & Music”. The show featured the B-boy dancing crew “MAKERS” and Korean traditional music artist Kim Yeonjin.
The visiting group has performed three times in Bahrain - Once on July 15 at the Avenues mall in a free style pop-up show for the public and twice on July 16 at 5 pm and 8 pm at the cultural Hall.
MAKERS is a gathered group of b-boy crew MB Crew and WAAKIPS, an all-female street dance crew, Beatbox NAZ and the Korean traditional music vocalist Kim Yeonjin. Together, the team re-enacted Korea’s top life altering historical events that has made Korea today as we know it.
Starting from the independence movement, to the liberation then from the sorrowful bloodshed of the Korean War to the momentous Olympic Games in the 80s heading towards the enthusiastic World Cup in 2000 ending with the tidal K-Pop movement that is sweeping the world, the MAKERS gave the Bahraini audience insights into the Korean contemporary history in an energetic and moving performance, earning thus the applause and admiration of all.
The events were part of the Korean embassy’s cultural programs in the Kingdom and were organized collaboratively between the embassy, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the Korea Foundation in the Republic of Korea.
