His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has underscored Bahrain’s commitment to helping promote regional security, peace and development. Top officials of the executive and legislative branches commended HM the King’s keynote address at the recently concluded Jeddah Security and Development Summit.
This came following a joint meeting held yesterday between the executive and legislative branches to review the outcomes of the summit. Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani said that His Majesty’s keynote address confirmed Bahrain’s keenness to unify Arab ranks in partnership with allied and friendly countries to settle disputes peacefully, and promote security, peace and development.
He indicated that HM the King had called for establishing international relations on the bases of mutual respect and rejection of external interference in countries’ domestic affairs, as well as for concerted efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, freeing the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction and strengthening the strategic partnership in protecting international navigation, energy and food security.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa noted that HM King’s keynote address reflected his forward-looking vision on the best means to achieve regional security and peace. He hailed HM King Hamad’s call for using modern technology to support global economic growth and price inflation.
