Bahrain Pearl and Gemstone Institute (DANAT) Chairman Yasser Al Sharifi has affirmed its commitment to improving the quality of work on pearl and gemstone inspection services and implementing global partnerships and training programs.
This is in line with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives and national plan to revive the pearl industry. The institute is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year.
“DANAT, which was launched in 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), remains committed to furthering fruitful partnerships with its counterparts worldwide, and to enhance public confidence in pearls, gemstones, and jewelry by maintaining the highest industry standards, scientific knowledge, and professional ethics,” Al Sharifi said.
Noora Jamsheer, CEO of DANAT, expressed pride in the achievements of the institute over the past five years, noting that these accomplishments represent a strong motivation to provide more services to regional and global customers.
“DANAT is committed to providing more quality services, including the development of its laboratory, which in a relatively short period became the best laboratory in the world for the inspection of pearls and gemstones utilising its cutting-edge equipment and specialists of unique expertise,” Jamsheer said.
“As part of its commitment to excellence, DANAT is continuing to deliver quality training programs, some of which are specifically designed to build the capabilities and skills of Bahraini cadres.”
