A Filipino women organisation will be hosting an event that will give women overseas workers in Bahrain time to hang out, have fun and bowl while making difference by donating the proceeds to charity. Officers of Pinay Ikaw Na! (PIN), a women’s organisation, held a meeting recently to organise a “Bowling for a Cause”.
According to PIN president Dinah E. Sta. Ana, the “2nd Pinay Cup”, is a one-day bowling tournament which will be held on 5 August from 8am to 4pm at the Funland Bowling Centre. “As a Filipino living in a foreign land, raising funds for a good cause or even coming up with quick fundraising event like this is a great way to show the value of doing things for others and creating or strengthening ties with the local community,” Dinah stated. This exciting activity promises to be full of fun to the attendees to mingle with fellow Filipinas and migrant workers.
During the game, raffle tickets will be drawn to win donated prizes. PIN has been working on the ground to make a lasting impact both in educating and training of Overseas Filipino Workers in various aspect of socio-economic initiatives as well as provision of medical assistance to cancer patients. Recently, in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and Philippine Embassy, a Dressmaking Training was held primarily to equip migrant workers with necessary skills in order to complement additional income in the future.
The group has remained committed in their focus to have a progressive momentum in making a positive contribution in the community. For team registration please contact: Dinah 39797669, Edz 33488499, Marijoy 39998783 and Yeng 34207388.
