Two Bahraini engineers accredited to Space Generations Advisory Council

Two engineers from the National Space Science Authority (NSSA) have obtained membership accreditation to the Space Generations Advisory Council.

They are Aerospace Eng. Owl Ali Al Quraan and Eng. Munira Al Maliki. It is a landmark achievement as they are the first representives of Bahrain to have been accepted in the Council, which enjoys the sponsorship and support of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.

Located in Vienna, Austria, the Council is a non-governmental organisation and a global professional network that aims to spread awareness by inspiring and engaging the next generation of young people in space sector issues.

It values the voice of the youth in the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs as an observer in the space industry and in other international organisations such as the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).

NSSA Chief Executive Officer Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Al Asiri said: “The National Space Science Authority is proud of the excellence of its engineers in various regional and international space sector forums.

The accreditation of the Space Generations Advisory Council is an important stage for young professionals in the space sector, as it provides them with the practical and knowledge necessary to assume leadership positions in various prestigious international organistions such as the United Nations and the IAF, and this is a very important matter.

“The authority is always striving to harness its capabilities to develop its young cadres and achieve the vision of His Majesty the King and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to advance the Bahraini youth, develop their capabilities and empower them in various fields to gain the honour of serving his country.”
