Partnerships with private sector important: Bahrain minister

Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi has emphasised the importance of strengthening partnerships with the private sector in order to play a significant role in providing housing services to citizens.

Addressing a press conference held yesterday, in the presence of Eskan Bank Director-General Dr Khalid Abdulla, Al Romaihi vowed to continue efforts to adopt innovative housing solutions aimed at accelerating the pace of achievements in the housing sector.

She noted the goals of the wide-ranging development march, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The launch of the new housing finance program comes in implementation of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s directives to increase the beneficiaries of the “Mazaya” program by an additional 500 this year, and to offer more financing options for housing services.

The Minister outlined the new housing schemes, which were approved by the Cabinet, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister yesterday. The new initiative, which includes ‘Tas’heel Affordable Housing Solutions’, was announced by Cabinet which features three financing options – ‘Tas’heel Aqari’, ‘Tas’heel Al Bait Al Oud’, and ‘Tas’heel Ta’awon’, as well as the launch of a new category of the ‘Mazaya Social Housing Scheme’ along with the previous version of Mazaya.
