His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister, has highlighted the depth of the strategic Bahrain-US relations, noting Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the military and defence fields.
HRH Prince Salman was speaking as he received yesterday the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the United States Fifth Fleet, and Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, Vice Admiral Charles B. Cooper II, at Gudaibiya Palace.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness was introduced to the organisers and participants of the Combined Force Maritime Component Commander Flag Course 22-3C, which is held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 14 to 18 August.
The course is organised by the US Naval War College, involving participants from across 11 ally countries. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed Vice Admiral Cooper, the organisers and participants of the course, and emphasised the importance of joint military training and courses that bolster military cooperation between allies to achieve regional security and stability.
A number of issues of common interest and the latest regional and international developments were discussed. Present in the meeting were the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Charity Educational Endowment, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, General Shaikh Rashed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, and the Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi.
