SCW Instagram account for ‘Athar’ project launched

The Secretariat-General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) has launched a special Instagram account for the Bahraini Women’s Monument project “Athar” (Impact), which is currently under construction, ahead of the official inauguration of the Memorial by the end of this year.

The move, which coincides with the 21st anniversary of the establishment of the SCW on August 22, is part of the ongoing preparations for the celebrations of the Bahraini Women’s Day on December 1.

The SCW will later launch a special website for the Bahraini Women’s Monument. It will include detailed information about its background, and serve as an interactive platform for visitors.

The memorial will celebrate Bahraini women’s contributions to building the nation throughout the kingdom’s history across various fields of development.

The monument was one of the outcomes of the Bahraini Women’s Day 2017, when the SCW and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities held a competition for Bahraini youth to come up with proposals to set up a kind of monument that embodies the Bahraini society’s pride in the contributions of women to the progress of the nation. The “Athar” project won the competition.
