His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa left Egypt yesterday after taking part in a quadrilateral meeting with leaders of Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.

The meeting organised by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was held in northrn Egypt’s coast city of New El Alamein City.

UAE President, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, and King Abdulla II ibn Al-Hussein of Jordan were present at the Arab consultative meeting that discussed boosting fraternal ties and “the aspects of joint cooperation at various levels,” said El-Sisi in a statement.

The discussion also focused on the need to step up joint Arab action and united Arab position to counter challenges. The leaders reviewed a number of regional and international issues and developments and stressed the need to step up efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

The meeting stressed the need to work closely to relaunch the peace process between Palestinians and the Israelis on the basis of two-state solutions. A similar meeting was held on Monday gathering the same leaders as well as Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, who left Egypt earlier on Tuesday, during which they addressed means to develop all-around cooperation between the five countries.

Following the meetings, King Hamad was seen off yesterday at the airport by President Al-Sisi, senior Egyptian Government officials and the Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt, Hesham Mohammed Al-Jowder.
