Amlak launches ‘Bahrain Marina’ phase 2

mlak, the real estate investment arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), announced yesterday the commencement of the second phase of ‘Bahrain Marina’ and the successful awarding of new contracts.

“We are pleased with the progress made so far on the Bahrain Marina Development Project. We have also appointed the most experienced consultants to drive forward next phase of the ambitious project,” said Amlak’s CEO, Mohamed Abdulelah Al Kooheji, in a statement issued yesterday.

“The second phase of the project focuses on two main aspects; clearing the existing site and finalizing the detailed masterplan in order to move forward into the development phase,” he added.

Amlak confirmed the appointment of Benoy, an internationally known architectural firm, as the lead designer for the project. Benoy has vast experience in working alongside largescale projects in the region including Yas Island master plan, Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi and The Beach in Dubai. Project Management has been awarded to Bruce Shaw, an international group of construction and consultancy professionals serving clients in over 40 Countries. The Global construction group has offices in the Kingdom of Bahrain UK and France.

Amlak has also appointed HAJ as Quantity Surveyors, Hyder Consulting as Traffic and Road Consultants and AECOM as Marine Consultants.
