Shaikh Nasser attends qualifying race
His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the qualifying 80-km endurance race of the federation’s endurance season yesterday along with Breef President Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa. On the occasion of the beginning of the local endurance races season, Shaikh Nasser said the qualifying 80km race witnessed strong competition in all stages, as a number of skilled riders from the different stables in participated.
He also expressed optimism for the new local riders in this year’s endurance season to add a technical boost to the competition and asserted Breef is following a plan to integrate young riders and promising talents within the federation.
Rider Hood Ibrahim won the three stages of the race riding Samba from Victorious Stables, finishing the first stage (1 hour 43 minutes 26 seconds) with a speed of 23 km/ph and finished the second and third stages in (51:48) and (49:12) respectively. This is a great comeback for Hood who was eliminated from the competition in the previous season due to an injury he sustained in a traffic accident last year.

Stage 2: 1) Hood Ibrahim (51:48), 2) Rashid Al Rowaiee (55:51), 3) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa (55:40).
Stage 3: 1) Hood Ibrahim (49:12), 2) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa (48:38), 3) Rashid Al Rowaiee (48:57).
