BDF welcomes civilians to join reserve force

Joining the army is usually a life-defining decision. For serving the country and helping to protect its security, stability, and territorial integrity is not an ordinary task. If you are willing to accept such a responsibility, then the time has just arrived. The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force announced yesterday that Bahraini citizens are now welcome to join the reserve army as part of a phase 1 initiative first announced in September 2021.
Those eligible to apply are relatives of BDF and National Guard staff and retirees - both military and civilian. Applicants may register via https://www. bdf.bh on the BDF website, using the special e-form. Applicants should be Bahraini between 18 and 55 years of age. However, the upper age limit does not apply to technicians, specialists or other duty requirements. Applicants should have good conduct and not be convicted by a court for felony or misdemeanour.
They should also be medically fit for military service in the reserve force and successfully pass the medical examination following BDF’s system of military medical committees. The Reserve Force Law is promulgated by Decree 5/ 1987, and the regulations issued to regulate all rights and duties of the Reserve Force, being a BDF auxiliary force.
It guarantees the benefits and entitlements that are resulted from that. In the first stage, registration is open for citizens (males) only among the relatives of members of BDF and the National Guard (military, civilians and retirees). In the second phase, registration will be open for other male and female candidates.
