Parliamentarians yesterday hailed the royal support to students, terming it as a great measure that will take the burden off a large number of Bahraini families as the new academic year begins. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, ordered the distribution of BD25 vouchers for each government school student for purchasing school bags and other basic supplies. This comes in the implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to support the students with an aim to improve educational outcomes.
Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi extended his appreciation to HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince for their continuous support to the educational system to enrich it apart from providing the educational environment, which will motivate students to achieve greater academic goals.
Ali Zayed, Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, said the royal directive will enhance the principle of social solidarity while helping many families meet the educational requirements of their children. He pointed out that such directives will strengthen the educational process and alleviate the burden on parents as they prepare their children to return to schools.
Lawmaker Ahmed Al Salloum confirmed that the support will be of great help for large Bahraini families, which have many school-going children. “His Majesty’s directive implemented by HRH the Crown Prince brought joy to many Bahraini families. The decision has enabled them to purchase stationery and school tools in preparation for the new school year.” He also highlighted the decision to hold an introductory day for parents at the school as the classes are set to resume this Sunday.
The lawmaker also praised the great efforts of the Education Minister to boost the education sector. “Bahrain has attained many achievements over the past years, which came as a translation of the diligent and continuous work by all parties concerned, who are continuously striving to develop the educational system, which today is gaining a distinguished position among the countries of the region and the world,” the lawmaker said. Ibrahim Al Nafaei, another lawmaker, said the directive aims at creating a nation full of bright youngsters, having great trust in the Kingdom’s education sector.
MP Mohamed El Sisi also praised the directives of His Majesty the King, the Crown Prince, which contributed to providing comfort for students and parents. “The Kingdom is a role model when it comes to implementing welfare measures. The leadership of the nation has been implementing the best measures to reduce the burden of citizens.”
