Taskforce strategies underway to combat communicable diseases

Health Minister Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan is keen to set out strategies to combat communicable diseases, in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
This comes as he chaired the first meeting of the newly-formed National Taskforce for Combatting Communicable Diseases.
The session was also attended by members and other Ministry officials. Dr Jawad pledged to build on the efforts of the National Committee for Combating Communicable Non-Communicable (Chronic) Diseases to achieve goals it set out.
She highlighted the importance of implementing programs and projects aimed at raising the quality of health and preventive services provided and enhancing their efficiency and sustainability.
The panel reviewed the Edict (36) and Edict (43)) of 2022, establishing and forming the National Taskforce for Combatting Communicable Diseases.
It followed up on the decisions and recommendations of the National Committee for Combating Non-communicable (Chronic) Diseases and discussed a proposal submitted by the team of United Nations agencies, as the Health Survey 2023 project.
