Bahrain aims to become a global exhibition centre, says minister

The focus is on making Bahrain a high-standard global exhibition centre in the region.
Zayed R. Alzayani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, said this as he opened the doors of the first Bahraini-Omani Perfume Exhibition at The Avenues mall yesterday.
The minister said that the Kingdom is keen to boost investment opportunities and build strategic partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals.
"For which, the Kingdom will support and adopt projects that enhance the local economy, such as the conference and exhibition industry." Attracting and forging partnerships with regional and international players is of top priority, Alzayani said, which would further enhance the local economy.
The expo that opened in the presence of GCC and Arab Ambassadors continues until Saturday. A wide selection of local and regional Perfume companies and specialists are available at the expo.
The ministry also attended the launch of the Bahraini- Omani Friendship Society, which he said is a step to increase joint coordination between both countries. He received a briefing on the upcoming Bahrain Virtual Museum - the first of its kind in the world.
The project relies on virtual reality to achieve strategic objectives in various fields in Bahrain, especially education, tourism and e-commerce.
The minister asserted that this will increases the demand for experts in modern technologies, including research, training and empowerment of youth for future jobs in collaboration with the government.
