Arab delegation visits Farmers Market in Hoorat A’ali

A youth delegation from the GCC and other neighbouring countries visited the Farmers Market in Hoorat A’ali, one of Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) subsidiaries, as part of the youth camp hosted by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs from 21 to 25 August 2022. The delegation was introduced to the agricultural projects that are incubated by the market and owned by Bahraini farmers including local crops and other products, and the services that BDB provides to Bahraini farmers.
The delegation was given a brief presentation of the financial and non-financial services that the bank offers to empower entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the initiatives and efforts to support youth entrepreneurs in all sectors.
The Farmers Market is an agricultural incubator that aims to enhance the agriculture sector in Bahrain and enables Bahraini farmers to display their local products in a permanent market. Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAID) Consultative Council President, opened the Farmers Marketin 2018 in partnership between BDB, NIAID and Tamkeen.
The Market includes 51 booths to display and sell local corps, plants and dates, in addition to cheese, spices and pickles produced locally by Bahraini farmers. Handmade baskets, locally grown flowers and plants are also available at the market.
