New steps to boost technical education in Bahrain

Bahrain Polytechnic, the Kingdom’s most coveted technical education, is in its best efforts to boost the Kingdom’s technical education scenario with a multi-faceted approach. In a statement issued to our sister paper Al Ayam, the institute said it aims to impart the highest international standards of set technical sustainable education to the students in the coming years. According to Bahrain Polytechnic, on September 1, 2022, an orientation day was held for all new students.
350 students attended the meeting in order to become familiar with all information regarding the new programmes and the procedures for admission. The polytechnic further states that all students who have been accepted into “Vocational Qualification Programme” are made aware of the programme.
It was developed for students who were unable to meet entry requirements in order to increase their employment prospects in a variety of professions by acquiring the academic and practical study that programs offer. According to Bahrain Polytechnic, the first semester will be devoted to studying English, mathematics, and personal branding, while the second semester will be devoted to practical studies, where students will attend classes two days a week and gain experience in the industry sector the other three days.
The college notes that as soon as a student receives a certificate of completion of the vocational qualification program, he can begin applying to Companies, where this program will provide them with the necessary knowledge and sufficient familiarity with the skills of excellence in work. At Bahrain Polytechnic, students must take an admission test and, if accepted, will be given the opportunity. Depending on the admissions results, he/ she must study the foundation programme, diploma, or bachelor’s degree.
In addition, Bahrain Training Institute graduates will be given an opportunity prior to applying and will be accepted based on their desire to continue their studies, in line with the college’s pioneering and ambitious vision of preparing qualified graduates to work at a high level of professionalism and ability Entrepreneurship in the Kingdom.
The Bahrain Polytechnic has been established by the Bahrain Government to address the need for a skilled Bahraini labour force, with the aim of supporting economic growth and diversification. Programmes, qualification and courses, and the underlying methodology of how they are delivered are developed in consultation with businesses, industries, professions, international education and training institutions. Graduates will be work-ready; confident and competent, aware of what is expected of them in the professional world and able to perform to their full potential.
