HM King Hamad issues decrees to restructure key offices

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday issued Royal Decree (50) of 2022, restructuring the Office of the Prime Minister, as follows:

The Prime Minister shall be responsible for:

First: Director-General of Policies and Coordination.

Second: Director-General of the Office of the Prime Minister, who shall be responsible for:

1- Directorate of Legal Affairs.

2- Directorate of Internal Central Control.

3- Two coordination posts.

4- Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Services, who shall be responsible for:

1. Directorate of Human Resources.

2. Directorate of Financial Resources.

3. Directorate of Services and Informational Systems.

5-Assistant Undersecretary for Median and Communication, who will be in charge of:

    1. Directorate of Media.

    2. Directorate of Communication.

6- Undersecretary of Research and Projects, who will be in charge of: Assistant Undersecretary for Research and Projects, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Research.

2- The Directorate of Studies.

3- The Directorate of Policies.

Assistant Undersecretary for Project, who shall be in charge of:

1- Four directorates of projects

2- Directorate of Operations.

Assistant Undersecretary for Developing Government Performance, who will be responsible for:

1- The Directorate of Government Cadres’ Development.

2- The Directorate of Government Service Quality.

3- The Directorate of Evaluation and Analysis.

4- The Directorate of Coordination and Follow-up.

Any text that conflicts with the provisions of this decree shall be abrogated.

The Prime Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Office of the Deputy Prime Minister

His Majesty issued Royal Decree (51) of 2022, amending some provisions of Decree (62) of 2008 on restructuring the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, as follows:

The phrase (Office of the Prime Minister’s Adviser) shall replace the phrase (Office of the Deputy Prime Minister) mentioned in the title of Decree (62) of 2008 on restructuring the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, as well as wherever it appears in its first article.

The Deputy Prime Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes effect immediately, and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Works Ministry

HM the King issued Royal Decree (52) of 2022, restructuring the Works Ministry, as follows:

The Minister of Work shall be responsible for:

Works Undersecretary, who shall be in charge of:

First: Directorate of Financial Resources.

Second: Directorate of Human Resources.

Third: Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Cost Engineering.

2- The Directorate of Materials Engineering.

Fourth: Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitation, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Sewage Planning and Projects.

2- The Directorate of Sewage Operation and Maintenance.

Fifth: Assistant Undersecretary for Roads, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Road Planning and Design.

2- The Directorate of Road Projects and Maintenance

Sixth: Assistant Undersecretary for Construction and Maintenance Project, who shall oversee:

1- Directorate of Construction Projects.

2- Directorate of Buildings’ Maintenance.

3- Directorate of Strategic Projects.

Any text that contradicts the provisions of this decree shall be repealed.

The Works Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Labour Ministry

HM King Hamad issued Royal Decree (54) of 2022, restructuring the Labour Ministry, as follows:

The Labour Minister shall be responsible for:

The Undersecretary of the Labour Ministry, who will be in charge of:

First: The Directorate of Human and Financial Resources.

Second: Undersecretary for Labour Relations, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Labour Relations.

2- The Directorate of Manpower Development.

3- The Directorate of Occupational Inspection and Safety.

Third: Undersecretary for Labour Relations, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Employment.

2- The Directorate of Compensation and Unemployment Support.

3- The Directorate of Vocational Institutes’ Affairs.

Any text that conflicts with the provisions of this decree shall be abrogated. The Labour Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Social Development Ministry

His Majesty issued Royal Decree (53) of 2022, restructuring the Social Development Ministry, as follows:

The Social Development Minister shall be responsible for:

The Undersecretary of the Social Development Ministry, who shall be in charge of:

First: The Directorate of Human and Financial Resources.

Second: The Assistant Undersecretary for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Social Welfare.

2- The Directorate of Social Rehabilitation.

3- The Directorate of Family Guidance.

Third: The Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development, who shall oversee:

1- The Directorate of Social Assistance.

2- The Directorate of Centres and Development of the Family and Childhood.

3- The Directorate of NGOs’ Support.

Any text that contradicts the provisions of this decree shall be repealed. The Social Development Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes immediate effect and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Cabinet Affairs Ministry

HM the King issued Royal Decree (55) of 2022, restructuring the Cabinet Affairs Ministry, as follows:

The Cabinet Affairs Minister shall be responsible for:

First: The Directorate of Coordination and Follow-up.

Second: The Directorate of Human and Financial Resources.

Third: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

Fourth: The Secretariat-General of the Cabinet, headed by a Secretary-General (with the rank of undersecretary), who shall be in charge of:

1- Assistant Secretary-General for Information and Session Management (with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who shall oversee:

a- The Directorate of the Secretariat of Sessions.

b- The Directorate of Information Systems and Documents.

2- Assistant Secretary-General for Committees and Follow-up (with the rank of Assistant Undersecretary), who shall oversee:

a- The Directorate of Committees’ Affairs.

b- The Directorate of Preparation and Follow-up.

Decree (29) of 2020 on restructuring the Cabinet Affairs Ministry and Decree (13) of 2021 on restructuring the Cabinet Affairs Ministry, as well as any text that contradicts the provisions of this decree shall be abrogated.

The Cabinet Affairs Minister shall implement the provisions of this decree, which takes effect immediately, and will be published in the Official Gazette.
